Not that Louboutin is a colour fan when it comes to gardens. In spring, he says, he prefers muted shades: pale yellows, pinks, whites and blues. He can take bright colours in summer only if they’re placed in a patch together, "which brings out the vibrancy of the blue skies and the dark shiny metallic of the trees". Rather, he takes delight in shapes: the round red leaves and puffy "wigs" of the smokebush,High Heels for her, Cotinus coggygria; the plastic "grapes" of the pokeweed, Phytolacca americana; the silvery leaves of Macleaya cordata, which he presses and frames for decoration in his shops in London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles.
Gardening for Louboutin is both an escape from the strict regime of work and a place to dream. "For me, the best garden is a place that’s a reminder of somewhere I’ve been that I’ve loved," he says. "I hate copying anything, trying to reproduce ideas exactly. It’s all about trying to recreate a feeling of a place. It’s about bringing back that magic you feel when you experience a plant, or a garden, or a bed that’s fantastic."
&nbsp, chrisitan louboutin heels;Where was he thinking of? The garden of his late friend Vivier, from which he obtained his valerian plant, for instance. Or the white beds in Sissinghurst, "which I adore". Or the gardens at Powys Castle in Wales, Kiftsgate Court in the Cotswolds, Hidcote Manor or Great Dixter, which he has visited on gardening tours.

But Shoes on Sale is hoping to change that.ddiction in the most fun way possible – and do it for a great cause," he said.
In keeping with tradition, QVC will offer its "Shoe of the Day" special every weekday throughout October from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (ET). Among Shoe of the Day donors: BCBGirls,

Caparros,High Heels for her, Deer Stags, Eastland, Easy Street, Jessica Simpson, Joey O, Kangaroos, Markon, Mia, Pazzo, Sam Edelman, Softwalk, Spring Step, chrisitan louboutin heels, Trotters and Yellow Box.
Event attendees will also be able to indulge their own shoe fetishes by shopping the expanded Designer Salon.
"Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Michael Kors – there’s a great selection of manolo blahnik shoes and designer handbags as well," said Jodi Fisher, VP of public relations and media at Nine

West, and a founder of Shoes on Sale, who remains closely involved. "It’s getting bigger and bigger every year."
Fisher said that the Designer Salon is a nod to the original louboutin boots on Sale, held in the tents in New York’s Central Park, where shoppers hunted for shoes in person. "We felt we

were missing that excitement when we agreed to do the whole televised sale with QVC. We cannot sell millions of dollars worth of shoes in tents, but wanted to bring back that

on-site excitement," she said.
Other names to look for this year include Cole Haan, Lulu Guinness, Stuart Weitzman and Marc Jacobs.
Nine West Footwear and Brown Shoe Co. are once again special benefactors of the event.
"In addition to providing funding for world-class hospitals, medical facilities and education centers across the country, QVC Presents FFANY Shoes on Sale benefits the women

battling breast cancer who rely on that life-saving research," said Brown Shoe CEO Ron Fromm. "Shoppers buying footwear from QVC on Oct. 18 will find not only a terrific deal on

great shoes, but they’ll have the satisfaction of knowing they are contributing to the effort to find a cure. I’m proud to be part of an industry that offers such enormous

support to this important cause."
Breast cancer remains one of today’s deadliest diseases. The American Cancer Society estimates that 40,970 women and 460 men will die from the disease in 2006. According to the

National Cancer Institute, some 15 percent of all cancer-related deaths in the U.S. can be attributed to breast cancer.

It was only when his friend Bruno Chamberlain suggested they start their own shoe company that Louboutin’s planting was replaced by a world of pumps and slingbacks.
After the duo became one of the world’s best-known labels (a pair of Louboutin rope-wedged espadrilles currently costs about £160 and stilettos start at about £300), they clubbed together to buy the kind of garden both dreamt about: 25 acres of private land and a classical French chateau that was once owned by Chamberlain’s family -they lost it during the French revolution.
The business partners bought the house in 1985. It was a semi-ruin, with "absolutely nothing of a garden except, office shoes, perhaps, a few nice trees&quot,High Heels for her;, says Louboutin. These included a ginkgo biloba that overshadows the front of the house, a couple of magnificent cedars of Lebanon and the poplars that line the drive, rustling in the breeze.
The rest they have landscaped from scratch, digging holes themselves for scores of magnificent trees all over the property -oaks, horse chestnuts, beeches, genista, firs, cypresses -digging trenches, creating vegetable gardens and planting the box and yew hedging that gives the garden its formal edges.

My luxury pick of the week is this gorgeous red satin open-toe pump from Christian Louboutin. This shoe features a black detailing which is very unique, and a platform sole.

These christian louboutins are available right now at Neiman Marcus, but you will have to open your wallet wide. They are priced at $1,125. If you are going to splurge, you might as well

splurge big! :) For a similar design in a closed pump, Christian Louboutin offers this black suede version. It’s a little bit cheaper at $895.  Photo credit: NeimanMarcus.com

Now that his red lacquered soles have reached closet staple status, its hard to believe that his first boutique  opened in Paris only in 1992. Prior to that, he worked freelance for Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent and also collaborated&nbsp,High Heels for her; with louboutin, Lanvin and Diane von Furstenberg, among other top-notch designers.
Despite his amazing success, Louboutin is kind enough to spare 40 minutes of his hectic Fashion Week schedule to talk  to moi. This French designer sits down in his showroom to share with Filipino fashionistas the quirky story behind his  trademark, his childhood dreams, current collection and his one and only lifetime passionobviously, louboutin boots.
Why the red soles? When did you first develop this trademark and how did you come up with it?
You know, it was never supposed to be a trademark. In 1992, I started to draw a lot of things and part of that  collection was inspired by Andy Warhol pop in general, so everything was very, very colorful. For most designers, there   is also another thing that doesnt always happen, but when you do a sketch, reality sometimes betrays it and you want to  be as close as possible to the original idea.
When I looked at the prototype of my first drawing, it was exactly the design, it was exactly the shape and it was  very, very, very close to my drawing so I was very happy, but something was missing and I could not understand what.
The shoe was called Pansy. It was a maryjane. I looked at it, and I did not understand what exactly happened. Then   I had this assistant who was painting her nails all the time. At one point, I looked and I saw that there was this big&nbsp, christian louboutin heels; part that was black in the prototype, and I had no black in my drawing!

For women who love a perfect pair of heels, the French shoe designer Christian Louboutin is a gatekeeper to desire. Thankfully, he makes louboutin heels — ultra-high stilettos, pumps

covered in spikes, marzipan-colored lace-ups — that cater to almost any fancy. When it comes to his craft, office shoes, Louboutin is unyielding. ”When I design my summer collection, I must work in a hot place,” he says. ”And I must be in a cold place when I design for winter.” This year he chose Brazil for the summer; his estate in the French countryside has no heat and is therefore ideal for wintertime. A consummate globe-trotter, Louboutin always packs light: ”I only do carry-on.” But what about fanatics who can’t bear to part with their Louboutins when they travel? ”My advice to them would be to ship the pairs before. That way, they can bring as many as they’d like.”He might be the king of high heels, but even Christian Louboutin knows that women can’t live in stilettos alone. In fact, when asked how many pairs of manolo blahnik shoes a woman should have,he said, "Every woman should own three pairs of shoes — high heels, flats, and Havaianas." The designer isn’t all talk, christian louboutin heels, either — in an interview about the opening of his new Sao Paulo store, he admitted owning 30 to 40 pairs of Havaianas himself. And yeah, that’s a lot of comfy flip flops, but considering most of them are in the $20 range, it’s not quite as extravagant as, say, 30 to 40 pairs of Loubs.
However, not all Havaianas are so inexpensive — our own Annie Scott just reviewed a wicked cool pair of glow-in-the-dark skull flips that retail for $28, and if you check out

the Limited Edition section, you’ll find the Slim Crystal Mesh style for $198.
The beauty of Havaianas are that, aside from being insanely comfortable, they come in a million different styles, so there’s sure to be something that suits your style. Shop

them below!

&quot, office shoes; All my louboutin boots have characters," he confides. "They all have stories attached to them." So tell me about that boot.
"Well, I am going to my office one day and there is a message saying please could I phone the police station in Versailles, and I am thinking,High Heels for her, ‘What did I do in Versailles?’ So

I call them and they tell me that someone has been murdered and do I know a woman called…" (Let’s just call her Madame X.) "She has my phone number in her bag, you see." The

woman, however, was not the victim but the perpetrator of the crime. "So I thought about her and how she’d bought my ysl shoes and imagined that she killed a lover with a high

heel." More gestures.
It should be noted that this portion of our conversation was conducted while Louboutin was doing a handstand on several bags of cement, his sneakered feet grazing the yet-to-

be-decorated basement ceiling of his salon.
"Hey, I nearly gave up shoes for the trapeze," he breezes, his charming features now the right way up. "But I figured that if you can do something a little less physical, you

can carry on after you’re 35."
At least, that’s what I thought he said. I was hotfooting it up the stairs with a couple of shoe boxes under each arm.

I will tell you one thing. Everybodys different, but everybody has a very specific background that makes a  difference in what they do. I was brought up in a feminine family. I had a father who was barely there, but I had four  sisters and a mother, so I was really over-surrounded by women. Because of this, my shoes can really be described as  feminine. They have to be pretty. I guess thats why Im selling more shoes, because they are flattering to women.
So if you have to describe your shoes as you would describe a person, they would be feminine then?
Yes, absolutely, but at the same time my shoes would be a multi-faceted person also.
As much as I love high heels, I do like flat shoes, too. In my sketches, I always prefer to draw them as high heels,   then I just cut the heel. My shoes can switch personalities, just as every woman is different and can change moods from   day to day.
When did you first realize that you wanted to design louboutin heels?
Pretty early. Eleven? Twelve? From what I remember, it was the only job I really wanted to do. At one point, I wanted  to befor five minutes and a halfan acupuncturist because I had read a wonderful book about acupuncture. But what I  didnt like about it was, when I was visualizing the study that I had to do, I thoughtmy God, what a mess!
So yes, Ive always wanted to do shoes. I got a proposal to do an extensive line of denim, but I just couldnt&nbsp, chrisitan louboutin heels; imagine doing that. I never wanted to go into the fashion industry. In the beginning, office shoes, all I wanted to do was make shoes   for showgirls. Even if Ive ended up working in fashion, its not for my love of fashion, but my love of christian shoes.
